Good morning.

  1. A tax on breathing. Wonderful.

    Don’t believe it.

    Not impeachable just reprehensible.

Don’t believe it either. Maybe Obama said something to him like “I’m not going to just increase immigration enforcement if you don’t support reform” which is being spun as “I won’t defend the borders”

  2. First they came for the … who will be next?

Our problems would be solved if they come FIRST for the people who like to cite the Constitution but are totally ignorant of the distinction between Civil and Criminal law or who doesn’t even seem to know what an escrow account is and why its different than, say, paying a fine to the gov’t. Instead of coming for such people first, though, such people seem to be quoted FIRST by their fellow traveling bloggers thereby increasing the incentive for silly rhetoric and ignorance.

  3. Not impeachable just reprehensible.

What’s reprehensible is advocating spending billions and billions of dollars securing an enormous imaginary line in order to keep people out of our country. I don’t know exactly what Obama said, but I’d put major money on my belief that Kyl is misrepresenting it or that it was an off-the-cuff misstatement. It should be obvious to anybody with half a brain that that’s not *the* reason Obama won’t “secure” the border.

The new atheists and Mr Flanagan.

I don’t know much about Flanagan, but all the hubbub about the “new atheists” is missing the point. It’s just like those (typically racist) people who loved to talk about the Black Panthers instead of the inequity of segregation or those (typically homophobic) people who love to talk about how over-the-top gay pride parades can be instead of understanding why gay pride parades are needed. The “New Atheists” are speaking out loudly and sometimes over-the-top IN RESPONSE to the increasing (Judeo-)Christianization of America and the common prejudice against atheists. Yes, Dawkins and Hitchens go too far sometimes. But if they weren’t out there leading the charge, there would be millions of atheists like me who’d still be “in the closet” and the theocratic right would be even stronger and more influential than they are.

    A tax on breathing. Wonderful.

    1) LOL at the name “Christian Research Network.”

    2) You are one gullible dude.

  4. JA,

The “New Atheists” are speaking out loudly and sometimes over-the-top IN RESPONSE to the increasing (Judeo-)Christianization of America and the common prejudice against atheists.

LOL. Oh, that’s rich. Sometimes I wonder if we occupy the same planet. You know the cognitive dissonance between the part of your brain that keeps citing statistics of the fall of Christian belief along side the part of your brain that talks about “increasing Christianization of America” must be an interesting dialog.

  5. Mark,

I meant politically, not culturally. Thank God ;-) the Christians lost a long time ago, culturally.

  6. JA,
You’ll have to explain sometime how a dwindling demographic has ever increasing power in a democracy.
