Tuesday Highlights

Good morning.

  1. Thoughts on the “super-majority.”
  2. Hunger.
  3. Actual (real-life) lawyers contending for the un-Constitutionality of the healthcare bill.
  4. Guns for God.
  5. Heresy.
  6. Podcasts on monasticism that come highly recommended.
  7. Is that right? Does the left interpret any enthusiasm on the right as “dangerous and intimidation?”
  8. Dishonest activists …. no really? (Isn’t that the norm)
  9. Hope and change continue (to fade).
  10. Demographics and Russia.
  11. If you, like me, have questions about charitable organizations like the Red Cross giving their top management big 6 figure salaries … here’s some that don’t.

if by real-life lawyers you mean one lawyer and the other half of the post being a re-quote of George Will….who isn’t a lawyer last time I checked.

Interestingly, if you follow through to his Heritage Club memo you’ll note that he basically says Congress can create a mandate by imposing a general tax to pay for health care and then issuing a tax credit to those who buy health insurance. So you basically have an argument that Congress cannot criminalize not buying health insurance….but it can essentially tax not buying health insurance.

Kind of like a town that has an ordinance against strippers but permits ‘nude dance performances’. A distinction with little real difference.

    WTF? Grow up.

  3. JA,
I guess that might have been a better response … that is to offer to those like Mr Kerry a request to grow up.
