Evening (still vacation) Link Roundup

Good Day.

  • I’ve been remiss … and like Glenn Reynolds, I even got an e-mail notice. Lydia McGrew at (Right Reason) warns that the Canadians are getting a little loopy re Church and State. Bill Wallo (Wallo World) has more. While they’re insisting that the Catholic’s get women priests, will they require Muslim men to wear head-scarfs? How does that jive with the reported movement toward acceptance of Sharia law for Muslims I wonder.
  • Mike Russell (Eternal Perspectives) notes something he sees as a good movement in the Church. I’d guess even the non-Christians would think that change is a good thing.
  • Groothius (new blog name, Culture Watch) has 12 big mistakes in Mr Brown’s Da Vinci Code (no link, for I can’t in good faith (so to speak) recommend it). I did read it, but was put off. For a writer claiming to all sorts of historical accuracy, it seems it would behoove him to have his expert character correctly translate Latin. Since my 25 year old, Latin non-expertise caught errors … how the heck am I supposed to believe the rest, eh? If you don’t get the stuff I know right, I sure as heck ain’t going to trust you when the ice gets thin.
