WTF? Conscious humans have not only burst onto the scene and dominated over every other creature, we actually have a chance to leave the Earth and settle other planets, in theory! Consciousness is a huuuuuuuuuuge evolutionary leap. Does it have huge costs to go with it? Yes, of course. Long gestational periods, sleep, etc. But the tradeoff is clearly worth it.
Oh, and it’s Wednesday, Mark.
JA,
Hmm, guess I’ve been working a little overmuch. (on the Wednesday thing).
The babysitting co-op.
Is this person trying to say we have a recession because we’ve ‘reached the limits of our demand’? That we’ve gotten so wealthy that we just don’t want anymore goods and services?
But if this was the case there would be no spike in unemployment. People who have all that they need, like lottery winners, would leave the labor market entirely.
