Good morning.
- Benedict’s encyclical is out. It’s on a topic of wider interest than just the catholic faithful … public charity.
- Rot and the modern state.
- A supporter of Mr Obama’s non-statements/non-action regarding Iran is not so appreciative of his error regarding Honduras. A non-supporter wonders what the heck he’s considering regarding Iran.
- Obama in Moscow. More here.
- Pro-choice and reality.
- On Ms Neda the Iranian martyr and a question. Why were all the pictures cropped? Who did that? Why?
- Cycling and pain … a very scientific (heh) explanation.
- Evolution and a number.
- Getting the music right.
- On the Ms Palin stepping down kerfuffle.

On the Ms Palin stepping down kerfuffle.
My guess is either a big scandal’s about to break or she was warned that it would break if she didn’t resign. Isn’t that why politicians almost always resign abruptly? (Serious health conditions are the only other reason I know of.) Obviously it’s only a guess. Sarah Palin’s mental processes are a complete mystery to me.
My take is pathological narcissism coupled with premature fame. Rather than being allowed to mature as a up and coming politician McCain plucked her as an affirmative action ploy (to capture female Hillary supporters, partially neutralize Obama’s historic status as the first serious black candidate while at the same time maintaining support among pro-lifers and cultural conservatives who would have bucked at a Lieberman nomination or a moderate GOP woman like Christine Whitman)
A supporter of Mr Obama’s non-statements/non-action regarding Iran is not so appreciative of his error regarding Honduras.
Dude, we haven’t intervened in either Honduras or Iran. In both cases Obama’s statements are that the democratic process should be respected.
Rot and the modern state.
I can’t wait to see who the pikos blame when the shit hits the fan…..
