A top 10 “evil men” list … correlate with Marxism?

But I thought intentions matter! Otherwise Bush is more evil than Idi Amin, for example.

    JA,
What are you talking about. These are listing #ers of their own citizens executed. You are clearly delusional if you think Bush has executed more than 300,000 Americans.

While I attempted to discriminate between wars, conflicts, poor policies, etc., it just became too difficult to separate the figures I found with the causes. For example, the failure of policies that result in starvation could be excluded in some cases and not in others. I attributed failed policies of ideologies to be just as deadly as bullets and bombs.

It says nothing about either citizens (which would exclude Hitler) or executions. Bush has caused more than 300,000 deaths.

    JA,
If you seriously think Bush belongs on the list of 20th century evil dictators … you’re straying into aluminum hat territory.

And if the list collator’s numbers are wildly off, because the numbers they list are about right if you count their own citizenry.

I don’t think that, because of intent, which was my original point. Still, it’s important not to gloss over the fact that Bush is responsible for more deaths than all but 8 of the most evil dictators in history.

    JA,
You realize the Lancet study was severely flawed … and that al-Qaeda caused most of the deaths in Iraq. That’s akin to impugning the Nazi war deaths to Churchill.

I don’t know if it was or wasn’t, but other numbers are still in 6 figures.

and that al-Qaeda caused most of the deaths in Iraq. That’s akin to impugning the Nazi war deaths to Churchill.

Without George Bush there would have been no al-Qaeda in Iraq. Anyway, AQI makes up only 2%-15% of the violence in Iraq. Let’s not buy into the propaganda.
