Wednesday Highlights

Good morning. It’s getting back to (slightly higher) but normal temperatures in Lemont with a supposed high of 41 today. Here, where I am, in Reno we have about the same temperature with a slight chance of much needed rain (I think the “much needed” is a constant thing here as it is a desert after all).

  • Inequality and unconcern. I think that’s right, we (as a people) are less concerned about incidental inequalities than the experts imagine or expect is right.
  • An older book, reviewed, on Trinity.
  • China and its war on information.
  • Constantinianism“, a word of which I had never heard.
  • The battery alternative to the electric hybrid, with pictures.
  • At Scriptorium Daily at reason to vote Romney.
  • A paper on CS Lewis and Narnia.
  • Mr Goldberg’s book reviewed and plugged. Cute cover. ;)
  • Immigration and birthright of citizenship. If one believes that the right to bear arms needs re-examination in light of our far higher population density and the increased availability and power of firearms, then I’m unclear on why inexpensive and extremely fast travel doesn’t also argue for re-examination of this. It seems to me the same argument.
  • How does that match the red/blue map I wonder.
  • It seems to me, novelists and writers our our cultures story tellers not judges.
  • On the Internet blog-storm.
  • A blogger writes a book, summarizing Mormonism, and of course another blogger reviews it.
